I am back from ShowShoe WV. We went horse back riding and that was good. But, we also went sporting clays shooting. My New Old gun did well. It certainly kicks like an old gun. However, its shooting was unmatched. It had some quirks like not breaking open easily after the Upper barrel was fired. I hit 34 out of 50 which was really good considering that I don’t shoot all that often. I think that my gun was a keeper. On the other hand, the jury is still out on my son’s new shotgun. It is an import from Turkey and was priced low. I functioned fairly well and makes for a good first starter gun. However, every so often the gun would click and the shell would not fire. The shell showed the strike mark where the pin had hit the shell but had not ignited the primer. The guides thought it was the the ammo but this happened several times and I don’t think that all of the ammo could be bad. I will bring the Ithaca shotgun that I had growing up and have it repaired. It is stored at my Father-in-law’s house. It is a 20 gauge like my son’s gun. But it was quite a gun and should do my son well. He could shoot a 12 gauge but is worried about the kick.
